Jana Audio · Kuwait
Audio plugins from Kuwait
We build from the circuit, and we measure what we build. Nothing ships on a description of how something is supposed to sound.

The plugins
Jana 965
Announced · Release date to be announced
A console EQ deck: one frame with four seats for cards, and two cards with it. The 965A is our own circuit, a workhorse for everyday tone shaping on tracks and buses: its bells stay wide on small moves and tighten as you push. The J15 is modelled from a published mid-1980s schematic, for surgical work: bells down to 0.03 of an octave and cuts to 20 dB. Try both on the same sound in one instance and keep the one that suits the job, with no second EQ to insert: each card keeps its own settings.
$50 at release, both cards included. One price for everyone, and free updates for life.
Zero latency No oversampling, no lookahead, no linear-phase filtering
Two cards, one insert Try each on the sound and keep the one that suits it
Unit variation Turn up VAR for a unit of your own, varied part by part
No time limit From release, the trial is the whole plugin
Measured on the plugin
Measured, not drawn
One band of the 965A at six gains, boost and cut, measured through the plugin itself. Small moves are broad and big moves are focused, and the cut is the boost turned upside down. Each card's page has more figures, with the settings and the numbers under every one.
| Curve | Setting | Measured |
|---|---|---|
| +15 dB | LMF GAIN at its clockwise stop, FREQ 919.2 Hz, Q at its 1·5 numeral | +15.07 dB at 919 Hz; 1.96 octaves between half-gain points |
| +7.6 dB | LMF GAIN at the dot for +7.6 dB | +7.64 dB at 919 Hz; 2.29 octaves between half-gain points |
| +2.4 dB | LMF GAIN at the dot for +2.4 dB | +2.39 dB at 919 Hz; 2.39 octaves between half-gain points |
| −2.4 dB | LMF GAIN at the dot for −2.4 dB | −2.39 dB at 919 Hz; 2.39 octaves between half-gain points |
| −7.6 dB | LMF GAIN at the dot for −7.6 dB | −7.64 dB at 919 Hz; 2.29 octaves between half-gain points |
| −15 dB | LMF GAIN at its counter-clockwise stop | −15.07 dB at 919 Hz; 1.96 octaves between half-gain points |
How we work
From the circuit to the plugin
A circuit first
Everything we make starts from a circuit. A circuit model is one real circuit, our own or one from a published schematic, solved part by part. A first-principles design is built from the mathematics of how a kind of circuit behaves. Two ways to build from the circuit
Measured, then believed
A claim from a model is a hypothesis until it is measured. Every response, range and printed value is checked against the circuit or the mathematics it came from, and the limits we know of are stated on the product's page.
Honest numbers on the panel
The panel prints the nominal values of the real parts, as a unit built from them would, and the readout reads that printed value. Real parts vary, so your unit can sit a little off its numbers, and the readouts can show by how much.
The trial is the product
What we sell plays fully before you buy it, with no time limit and nothing switched off. Buying brings your settings back. It never changes the sound.
Made in Kuwait
One maker, in Kuwait
Jana Audio is made by Talal Bouroki, in Kuwait. One person decides what ships, and writes down why; tools do everything that can be done twice. It says so on the panel, and it says so here.
