About Jana Audio
Jana Audio is an audio plugin company, made by Talal Bouroki in Kuwait. We make equalisers and other processors for people who record, mix and master. The company is small on purpose. One person decides what ships, and writes down why; tools do everything that can be done twice.
The name is written in Arabic and Jana in Latin. Both are the company.
How we work
Measure first. Nothing goes into a product on the strength of a model alone. A curve, a range or a claim has to be checked, against the circuit or the mathematics it came from or by ear, before it ships. Until then it is a guess, and we treat it as one.
Start from the circuit. Everything we make begins with a circuit, not with an adjective. A circuit model takes one circuit with real parts, their tolerances and their limits, and solves it part by part. Some of those circuits are our own designs. Some come from a published schematic, and then we follow the drawing. A first-principles design starts from the mathematics of how a kind of circuit behaves, and we build from that.
One meaning per printed value. The numbers on the panel are what the model does. If a legend cannot be made true, the design changes until it can.
Tools, not handwork. Nothing that ships is edited by hand. Every panel, table, build and page, this one included, comes out of a tool that gives the same result twice.
Decisions are written down. Every choice about a product is a file with its reason in it. A question asked a year from now, about why a knob stops where it does, has an answer with a number in it.
How we sell
The trial is the product. What we make plays fully before you buy it, with no time limit. Buying brings your settings back. It never changes the sound.
One price for everyone. No countdowns and no sale calendar. When we make an offer, it is open to everyone.
Updates are free for life, on every platform we release, for as long as we make the product. The details are on the Jana 965 page and in the terms.
Made in Kuwait
Designed, measured and built in Kuwait. It says so on the panel, and it says so here.
